Mina is located on US 95 South about 33 miles east of Hawthorne. In 1905, Mina was selected as a railroad division point on the Southern Pacific line that was owned by the Nevada and California Railway. The railroad was a great mode of transportation for the mining in the area. Some mining still continues in the area. Today approximately 330 residents live in Mina and the main street is lined with a cafe, motels, a store, gas stations and a bar.
